He committed himself to growing the game of hockey and all ice sports in New Mexico when he retired from the Air Force after a 27-year career. He was the general manager at the Outpost Ice Arena in Albuquerque for a few years after his retirement. Known as “The Colonel” to the kids, Flint instilled values of respect, excellence and fun in all aspects of hockey. He went above and beyond to provide opportunities for youth players to learn from positive role models in the sport.
