TREVOR FLINT NAMED OUTPOST ICE ARENAS’ CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER AND GENERAL MANAGER

(Albuquerque, New Mexico) Wednesday, July 10, 2019 – Outpost Ice Arenas today announced that Trevor Flint was named Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of the Outpost Ice Arenas in Albuquerque, NM. Flint, a native of Mississippi, comes to the Outpost Ice Arenas having recently served as a Colonel in the United States Air Force and is retiring after more than 27 years of service. Former Outpost Ice Arenas General Manager Steve Thompson is retiring after more than 20 years in the position since the first day of operations at Outpost Ice Arenas.

“In welcoming Trevor to the Outpost Ice Arenas we look forward to his leadership experience and enthusiasm for ice skating, hockey and the Albuquerque community after his long and illustrious career serving our country,” said Stan E. Hubbard, owner of the Outpost Ice Arenas. “We are incredibly grateful to Steve Thompson who has worked tirelessly to keep all ice sports available, affordable and prospering in Albuquerque. He has lead the efforts to rebuild and train our staff and oversaw the arena remodeling with a minimum of down time or interruptions. He has also been instrumental in leading the organizational aspects of ice hockey and other youth programs across our state.”

“This is a dream job for me and a tremendous opportunity for our family and I could not be more excited and humbled to join Mr. Hubbard and the Outpost Ice Arenas team,” said Trevor Flint, COO and GM of Outpost Ice Arenas. “When we moved to Albuquerque three years ago, the rink was one of the first places we visited and when we walked in Coach Steve Thompson was the first person we met. We immediately connected with him, the Outpost, the NM Ice Wolves Youth Hockey Association Family and the Albuquerque community, all of whom had a huge influence on our decision to retire here. I never could have imagined that my family and I would have the chance to follow Steve in this important role. We look forward to building upon the great work he has done and working for Mr. Hubbard and teaming with the community in taking the Outpost Ice Arenas and ice sports in New Mexico to new heights.”

Flint’s retirement from the Air Force follows his recent assignments as Director of Nuclear Inspections and Director of Oversight and Evaluation for the Air Force Inspection Agency at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM. Prior to serving at Kirtland Flint served more than 10 years in various positions at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming including Commander of the 90th Maintenance Operations Squadron, Commander of the 90th Missile Maintenance Squadron, Deputy Commander of the 90th Operations Group and Commander of the 90th Maintenance Group. Flint resides in Albuquerque with his wife Deanna who is the Business Manager at Outpost Ice Arenas and their two sons who are avid hockey players.
